How to Dirty Talk on the Phone: Use Specific Details
How to dirty talk on the phone: trade volume for one concrete detail. Before-and-after lines that make callers picture you, not just hear you.
Creator Resources
Volume is the first thing everyone reaches for, and the first thing a caller stops hearing. The fix is smaller than you would think: one real detail.
Why a detail beats enthusiasm
Enthusiasm is information about you. A detail is something he can picture. "That's so hot" tells him you approve. "Your hands are freezing, you came straight in from the car" puts him in a room.
A general statement has nothing to hold on to, so the brain drops it. Give it a temperature, a fabric, a sound, a street name, and it builds the rest for free. You are not describing the whole scene to him. You are handing him the two or three pieces he needs to build it himself, and the version he builds is the one he believes.
Trade the volume for a detail
- Generic: "You feel so good." Specific: "You're still in your work shirt. I can smell the cold on it."
- Generic: "I've been waiting for you." Specific: "I've been sitting on the kitchen counter since nine because the heat's out in the back room."
- Generic: "Mmm, yes." Specific: "There's a dog barking two yards over and I don't care."
Notice that the specific versions are not louder. Two of them are quieter.
Where to find details fast
- Steal from the room you are actually in. The real weather, the real noise outside, the real time on the clock. True details come out sounding true because they are.
- Use a sense he hasn't used yet. If he has gone all visual, hand him a sound or a temperature.
- Keep three things on file for your character: one street, one piece of clothing, one bad habit. You will never be stuck for an answer again.
Try this
- Name your three most generic phrases, the ones you say on every single call, and retire them for a week.
- Open each call with one concrete detail before he asks you for anything. What you're wearing, where you're sitting, what the weather is doing.
- Every time you feel "so hot" or "so good" coming, say a texture or a temperature instead and listen to what he does with it.
Fewer adjectives, more nouns. That is the whole tip.
