How to Get Regular Phone Sex Callers: The Callback Trick

The last thirty seconds of a call are the cheapest advertising you will ever do, and most calls throw them away.

A full stop vs. an open loop

Most calls end like a transaction closing out. "That was so good. Call me again soon." It is warm, it is polite, and it leaves nothing behind. He hangs up finished.

An open loop ends the call without ending the story. Something is left unfinished on purpose — a thing you almost told him, somewhere you said you would be on Thursday, a question you did not answer. He hangs up with a piece missing, and the only place to get that piece is you.

What one sounds like

• "I am not telling you what I did after you hung up last time. Ask me when you call back."
• "I will be out on that same back porch Thursday night. Same chair, same robe."
• "There is one thing about my neighbor I have never told anybody. Not tonight."

All three do the same job: name something specific, attach it to you, and then withhold it.

Two ways it goes wrong

• Too vague. "Can't wait to talk to you again" gives him nothing to come back for. A loop has to be a concrete thing, not a feeling.
• Paid off too early. If you tease it and then tell him before you hang up, the loop is closed and you are back to a full stop. Let it sit.

Then say your name

Callers remember a voice long before they remember who it belonged to. "The one with the laugh" is hard to ask for. "Ask for [your name] next time" is the difference between a repeat caller and a stranger who liked somebody once.

Try this

• Before your shift, write one open loop for your character and keep it in front of you. One specific unfinished thing you can use all night.
• End every call in this order: the loop, then your name. Nothing after it.
• Write down the loop you used for each caller so you can pay it off when he calls back.

Ten seconds of work at the end of a call is worth more than ten minutes of effort in the middle of one.
